Living In Halftone

This morning I took a set of random photos from around the front room and collaged them together, writing a lyric inspired by it. I uploaded a loop of rhythm guitar I recorded and pooled at tapegerm and Suno’d it all into this.

The loop is here (feel free to use it for own thing), royalty free under CC BY 4.0 license.

Eyes in halftone blink once, or not at all—
Sublime in their hollow recall.
Visible dots dancing in glances,
Dissolving, stochastic
It's all so fantastic
Living in halftone
Living in halftone

Henry the Lima Bean with a suitcase grins
through the alley of misfit bins.
A doll with a sideways stare
asks questions to the slanted air.
Buttoned snowmen hold their breath—
the clock forgot while it ticked to death.

Eyes in halftone blink once, or not at all—
Sublime in their hollow recall.
Visible dots dancing in glances,
Dissolving, stochastic
It's all so fantastic
Living in halftone
Living in halftone

For who are we to weave this pattern
Shape the shape
When hearts only shatter
And thoughts escape
Down the ladders
Eloping with fate

Wooden music box hums a scene,
etched in silhouettes and Vaseline.
The shadows giggle down the hall,
past tilted frames and papered walls.
A baby doll blinks, one blue eye—
the other black with days gone by.

Eyes in halftone blink once, or not at all—
Sublime in their hollow recall.
Visible dots dancing in glances,
Dissolving, stochastic
It's all so fantastic
Living in halftone
Living in halftone

Living in halftone
(we're living in halftone)
